Erkan entered the construction industry in Istanbul in 1960 and, in 1980, became a corporation under the name Erkan Şirketler Grubu. This journey of more than half a century is carried into the future today by the experience and depth the group has gathered across different sectors.

Mining, one of Erkan Şirketler Grubu's deep-rooted fields, goes back to the coal operation started in 1960 in Kemerburgaz, Istanbul, under Erkan İnşaat Madencilik ve Dış Ticaret A.Ş. The experience gathered over the years forms a strong foundation for the group's investments across different sectors.

Stepping into tea, one of Türkiye's important production sectors, in 1990, Erkan Şirketler Grubu took its place among the investments adding value to the regional economy and local production with its facility in Kendirli, Rize, and its daily capacity of 120 tonnes.
